About
Let’s be honest, the mom blog About Page is awkward. On one hand, I’m qualifying myself to strangers which feels rather vain. On the other hand, a blogger’s gotta do what a blogger’s gotta do. So, let me tell you what I have to write about…
Boring Stuff Worth Bragging About: Online since 1993, wrote online reviews in 1999, blogging since 2006, contributor, columnist, chapter author of a book, real estate broker, B.A. in Psychology, Grad School Drop-Out ( love this because it sounds like… Beauty School Drop-Out).
Relationship: Met my husband in 93 (no, not online), married him in the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in 1997 (no, I wasn’t pregnant), my mother made me have another wedding six-weeks later (yes, a wedding six weeks later).
Pregnancy: Despite having gestational diabetes, Silly Boy was easy. Good Times, until, he was born 3 weeks early = Can we say… N.I.C.U. Sweet Girl… seven months on bed rest and at 32 weeks… pop went my Sweet Girl’s water. Emergency C-Section followed by a one month N.I.C.U. reunion. They’re 18 months apart.
Call it Debbie Downer or Poor Me Syndrome if you will… but I’m going to throw some more out there just in case someone ever needs help…In the past few years… we’ve had a father beat cancer, several grandparents pass, a mother survive robbers shooting her, a hurricane destroy our business, marital strain, major losses in real estate and now my father is fighting cancer again BUT… doing well. And somewhere in the middle or end of all that… my strength weakened… and slowly I metamorphosed from sweet mommy butterfly into… a beat down Elphaba. Then… I was sick and tired of being sick and tired…I mean, hey… I’m married to a man who loves me, I have two great kids (despite that I’ve yelled at them) and to top it all off… we’re healthy.
I have returned to the mother blog ship by reconstructing my Mamanoggin site into MamaBloggin. Join us… as we re-learn how to smell the flowers.
Silly Boy: Beat cancer at age two, still refuses to wear shoes, he’s green, rather keen, he’s tall and kind of lean, teases his sister, hogs the Wii, digs in sand, loves to ski, his Bakugans make a mess, builds with legos, plays D.S., likes a peach, loves the beach, challenges anyone who tries to teach, he’s almost 8, hates to hate, just so glad he’s healthy and great.
Sweet Girl: loves to talk, looks for hawks, hasn’t had the chickenpox, her talent is art, a sincere heart, at the grocery store she pushes the cart, she likes the mall, loves dolls and enjoy’s knowing Cinderella made the ball, respects flowers, super powers and this girl is no coward, she can prance, she can dance and pretend she’s in a trance.
